Urban Effects Cabinetry New Product Launch
We have some new and exciting updates to Urban Effects Cabinetry! 3 new doors, 7 new finishes and some overall product updates are now available to order!
Urban Effects Cabinetry: New Cabinet Finishes
Urban Effects: Charleton Stain
Our Charleton stain brings a rich medium brown tone reminiscent of the sands on the Sahara desert in late afternoon. Not too yellow, not too red, this tone is a perfect stain accent to many of our paint colors. Charleton is available on Maple, Oak, Rift Oak, Cherry, Rustic Alder and Echowood White Oak.
Urban Effects: New Paints
We’re also introducing three new painted finishes.
Amherst brings a warm dark gray tone. Nile Blue is a rich deep blue with a slight underlaying tone of sage. Whitecap is our new whitest white color. Whitecap is derived from an ocean wave just as the top starts to break and the water turns white.

Urban Effects: New Brushed Paints
If brushed paints are your jam, you’ll appreciate our three latest color introductions. Millstone features a creamy white base with subtle brushstrokes. Silverstone has a grey/white hue to its base with subtle grey brushstrokes. Weathered Slate brings a rich dark chocolate tone as its base with darker brushstrokes.
Urban Effects: New Cabinet Door Styles
Our Crawford door features 3″ stiles and rails mitered around a veneered center flat panel. Perfect for those looking for a slight traditional touch to an otherwise modern door.
Pettigrew features 2-1/4″ stiles and rails with cope and stick cabinet constructions around a veneered center flat panel. Choosing MDF on Pettigrew would feature our unique sandwich construction method where the profiles are applied to an MDF backer to avoid cracks in the joints.
Our Sinclair door features 2-1/4″ stiles and rails routed inside and outside over a veneered center flat panel. This door is available in all wood species and you also have the option of 5 piece matching drawers or slab profiled drawers.
There’s something for everyone in our new door options
Urban Effects Cabinets: Size Modification Change
Effective immediately, custom size modifications in Urban Effects will be possible in increments of 1/8″ for width, height and depth. This allows greater flexibility incorporating Urban Effects into your designs.
Urban Effects Cabinets: Interior Material Change
Our standard interior woodgrain material is changing from Classic interior to Natural maple interior. This transition has already been implemented and is effective on all orders.
Urban Effects Cabinets: Custom Paint Program Update
The custom paint program has been available for several years. You can choose any paint color from Sherwin Williams, Bemjamin Moore and others to make your cabinets uniquely yours. You also now have the option to waive a sample door. Visit our showroom or contact us today for more information.
Urban Effects Cabinetry Door Styles
Your cabinet door style options are endless with Urban Effects. Choose Collingwood or Scotswood if you prefer traditional raised panel styles. If you’re going more contemporary with your kitchen cabinets, any of our slab doors would work as well the new Tate and Farrow doors.

Whether you’re looking for classic stains, modern paints, or unique textures, our selection has something for everyone. Explore the full range of Urban Effects Cabinetry color and finish options below and find the perfect match for your space!
Cherry
Cherry displays a distinctive grain pattern and warm color shadings ranging from nearly white to dark reddish brown. Dark pockets, pin knots, and random streaks are common. More than most woods, Cherry will darken when exposed to light, especially in lighter stains. Doors are a uniform color match clear of sapwood. Sound pin knots are permitted on the face of the door. Mineral streaks of 1/4” wide by 3” long may be found on the face of the door. Sapwood, which is a lighter color Cherry, may be found to various degrees on the back of doors.
Maple
Maple is a versatile hardwood with a fine, smooth grain. Maple varies in color from nearly white to slightly reddish brown. Mineral or sugar streaks occur naturally and can vary from piece to piece, but are more noticeable in lighter stains. A mixture of grades one and two White Maple with a reasonable color match is used to produce our maple doors. Pin and mineral streaks up to 1/4″ wide by 3″ long are allowed on the face of the door (no more than three per door). Lighter color stains will show the grain and color variations to a greater degree. The natural color may accentuate this variation even more. Heartwood, which is a darker Maple, may be found to various degrees on the back of doors.
Paints
Urban Effects Cabinetry offers painted finishes on Maple, Oak and HDF door styles. Choose Oak if you prefer the interesting look of grain beneath your painted finish. Choose HDF if you want a more stable substrate and prefer to save a little money.
Textures – Acrylic, Melamine and Thermofoil
Textures are highly popular for their unique look and feel. Acrylics utilize ultra high gloss finishes over an MDF core and backed with complementary melamine. Melamine doors are comprised of a particle board core with a durable, thermally-fused melamine coating. Thermofoil doors are comprised of vinyl-coated, thermally glued 3/4″ HDF with a melamine backer. The vinyl is bonded to the high-density core using heat and pressure, resulting in a product with excellent wear and heat-resistant properties.
